Default Near Sebring or Avon Park, Florida?

I'll be in Avon Park over 4th of July, and was wondering if there were any good places to skate that were't too far away.

I figure that one of the days I will venture up to Flatwoods or Suncoast or the like. I'm just wondering if there's a good place to skate closer to Avon Park.

I think there's a trail around Lake Jackson. Anyone been on it?

Thanks for your input.

Never skated there so can't help on the courses. I also found this:

Highlands Hammock State Park Trails

http://www.dep.state.fl.us/gwt/guide...ds_hammock.htm

It says it has a 3 mile paved loop.

Thanks, Lenny. It looks like I will be about 70 miles too far south to have good access to all the Orlando and Tampa area trails...

Bill, I'm not familiar with skating opps near Avon Park but I've skated a newer trail just south of Lakeland. If you have time to get up to the Orlando area, give me a shout and we'll hook you up with some local trals. Have a good visit and happy skating.

Thanks for the info and for the offer.

It looks like there are some new bike trails in Sebring, and maybe one in Avon Park that will work out well for me and my son.

If those don't work, I'll pick up the batphone and be in touch with my Tampa and Orlando area pals. I reckon that at least one day I will venture to Tampa.

Now to find a place in Avon Park that makes good Cuban sandwiches. :-)
