Ask DocSk8 (Expert Indoor Skate Building Advice) This forum is different then the other SkateLog forums in that it is not a discussion forum, but rather a place you can ask skate building expert Fred "DocSk8" Benjamin about building and repairing indoor speed, derby, and jamskate quad roller skates. Default Which plate for my skate?

Hi Doc,

I'm currently skating in a size 3 leather Bont hybrid boot which is mounted on a Bont ignite plate. I've been skating with this set up for around 7 months and as my first set up I've been really happy overall. I've been scrimmaging for a few months and hopefully I'll be getting tested soon so I'll be taking and hopefully giving harder hits in the next level. It's for this very reason that I'm considering another plate to get because one of the major flaws with the ignite plate is that the toe stop becomes loose (normally when you don't want it too!).

I'm short at around 5ft and weigh 62kg and I really enjoy jamming. Would really love your thoughts for having a small foot I'm realising weight definitely comes into it.

Cheers,

Boppins

Default Been there, built that.

Mag Avenger size 0. That is what I use on that size boot.... I have built a slew of 'em just like that.

Default Brilliant

Thank you ever so much for the advice. That plate was at the top of my list so I'm glad you confirmed that!
