This forum is for quad speed skating, but I never hear about quad events like the Quad Nationals and such. Do they still have them. Can somebody tell me when and where they are?
What is the cost to watch? How does one qualify to compete? Are there videos other then on youTube? Are there other big Quad events? |

No big Quad meets any more. Its pretty sad. There is an active quad league in the Great Lakes Region. You can contact Aaron Hoover with the team at
Ft. Wayne, IN. They have about 8 league meets every year and skate quad and inline races at all of them. Jim White might have details on their meet schedule. If you want to race at any of those meets, Lisa Dunham is president of the league. She told me last year that I could come up and skate any of the meets I wanted. All it takes is interest. We have a bunch of adults here in Nashville that skate quads, most of them are skating inlines at practice but will skate quad nationals this year. The say the best races at quad nationals last year were the old guys. Masters and up were the best. |

Has a quad speed team. I would absolutely love to race but I'm just too far away.

JUST FYI - there are a couple teams in Ohio growing quad speed back up too. There have been Ohio skaters going to USARS nationals every year and we had skaters at USRSS nationals this year too.
Also, we have an outdoor half-marathon that is quad-friendly (and quad encouraged!!!) if you're interested. I'll post info about the Park 'n Roll in a separate post for people in just a minute...
