Ask DocSk8 (Expert Indoor Skate Building Advice) This forum is different then the other SkateLog forums in that it is not a discussion forum, but rather a place you can ask skate building expert Fred "DocSk8" Benjamin about building and repairing indoor speed, derby, and jamskate quad roller skates. Default SUNLITE II plates

Hey doc, I picked up some early 80's 265 skates for my one son. it Has the old sunlike II plates. I remember the sunlike plate, but never skated them. Can I get pivot cups and cushions? Not sure if I should buy new cushions and pivot cups, or use his probe plate. As his foot has been growing, I have been reusing his old probe plate. I would call it close to a sport sport mount now. on the new skate it would be short mount. I have skated the probe plate, and for a cheap plate they skate well. I appreciate any info, and opinions.
Thanks,
Roy

The Sunlite came in several flavors. Which one do you have??

As far as I can remember, the soft parts from the Probe will work in the DA Sunlite and the OG bits are still available from RC Sports. So if you have the DA Sunlite, no problems. The High lift and SA suspensions are a different story. Pivot cups are the same but the cushions are darn near impossible to chase up.

It is the DA sunlite. I thought they looked the same, when I pulled them apart. As always thanks for the info...
