*** The SkateLog Forum Has Been Replaced by SkateDebate Dot Com ***

This announcement is to let everyone know that after hosting the SkateLog Forum and its predecessors for nearly 20 years, I have decided it is time to permanently turn the forum over to a new owner and administrator. I cannot think of anyone more suitable to take on that role than my SkateLog forum co-host, Florida skater Jessica Wright. I am pleased to announce that Jessica has agreed to establish and host a brand new skating forum, configured like the SkateLog Forum, but with a new name and a new Web Site. This new forum is 100% owned and operated by Jessica.

NEW FORUM NAME: SkateDebate Forum
NEW WEB SITE: SkateDebate.com

Ask DocSk8 (Expert Indoor Skate Building Advice) This forum is different then the other SkateLog forums in that it is not a discussion forum, but rather a place you can ask skate building expert Fred "DocSk8" Benjamin about building and repairing indoor speed, derby, and jamskate quad roller skates. Please start a new thread for each new question.

Default Where are we at with flip/QR axels for DA45

Hi Doc, after doing too much searching and not coming up with much, I wondered if you could fill me in on where things have arrived at now in terms of the above.

I have found one shop that sells SG DA45 flips in 7mm I think, but Australia.

Are there any alternatives , like maybe the Chaya you mentioned in 8mm or did people just give up on them in the end as i dont see to see many around. The link to someone who sold Titanium axles seems to be dead

Anyway please bless me with the wealth of your knowledge

Unhappy It's not that simple

SG does not routinely make flip axle DA45 trucks. They were available special order @ 1 time but no longer. Part of the problem is SG no longer makes the axles. On top of that SG started using Snyder (straight profile) axles on the 7mm DA45 trucks. This means special machining to get the old style axle to even fit in the housing, assuming one can find the axles.

As far as the Chaya trucks go..I have not heard good things about the durability. The pix I have seen show they snap @ the yoke. In addition, the truck geometry requires a shorter barrel cushion which limits choices.... as in th Chaya cusion is the only easy drop in. Not inexpensive either.
