Thanks so much for keeping us updated. Gotta ask tho, got a Canadian friend in the solo ... Jonathon Royer ... next update if you can, where does he stand? Would really love to know.

Again really appreciate the updates & once again, please tell Lawrence Christine said "keep smiling, you're the best!!"

I will need his team name to check. Solos get to choose a name too. I did see that skaters quests teams are doing well but can't remember exact placements. Will check them too at next round.
Ps the placements I am listing r for their respective categories and not overall though those r posted as well. I can't wait to strap my skates back on in the dry (fingers crossed) daylight again. Ol' bessie has gotta get a few miles of training in for her Northshore next weekend.

Jonathon's team name is "Aucune limite". Thanks so much for doing this. I really appreciate it.

Nice weather is heading your way. It's clear skies & dry here although a little cool tonight. Next stop Montreal with this weather. Stay positive. (I am so jealous I'm not there ... this is the first I've missed.)

I'll be in Duluth next weekend as well. Maybe we'll meet up at some point. I think we may have met in Chicago ... were you hanging with Herb??

Things r changing. Some teams have been moved up to elite cat including Fossils and Skaters Quest (last time I saw the rolling screen). Over 13 hrs to go and starting to yawn. Time to pound a java Monster.

Sorry I missed this earlier. Am using cell for this (dreading next bill haha) so its easy to zip past. Ur skater was running 3rd at 2300 hr but now very close 4th. Easy to change place when come out for a 10 min rest.

Hey, don't apologize I am thrilled that you're posting updates. Happy for Jonathan, feel torn because I'm rooting for both Lawrence & him.

Fossils moved up ... amazing a bunch of guys over 55 kicking butt out there. If you get a chance again would love updates.

Starting raining again here just a few minutes ago ... hope the weather is good for you guys there.

Thanks again!

Christine

Sorry to say WonderGirl's brain has checked out till it is dinner time and it orders the most $$$ on menu. Jk (maybe). My solo skater hit his 103 lap goal and now I'm planted on the sidelines cheering inbetween shivers. Lead solo skater has gotta be over 130 laps now. CRAZY!!
After that last rain ended there was no more, thank goodness, but was very cold during the night and unless skating it still is outdoors. Not Northshore last year cold but enough.
A few spills and injuries but for the most part all skaters still alive. Though many relays are being missed. Imagine look of skaters face as they skate their heart out for a lap, pass through relay zone, and no one to take the baton. Truth be told some of those looks do bring a giggle smile to a tired viewers insides. Half hour to go and last check the 2 elite leaders are neck and neck - same lap. Fossils were only 1 lap down from the next team up.
Several solo skaters are in pack together drawing large cheers when pass through. As does the backwards solo skater.
Zzzz

Does anyone out there have any results?? I'm wondering how the solo race finished up and what Lawrence's placement was.

Joey made me laugh. He said he was skating and the member of the Flying Fossils with a ponytail (must have been Cale Carvell, one of the fastest Fossils) was drafting behind him. Joey said he put on a little acceleration and he heard, "Oh, #!%$#!" and when Joey looked back he was all by himself.

Both the Fossils and Skater's Quest was bumped up to the Elite category. The teams fought it out all night into Sunday for 5th over-all. The Fossils cut their deficit to 15 seconds with a couple hours left. SQ then sent our top skaters out for a set of laps. After 12 laps the SQ lead reached 6 minutes and the Fossils started stopping by asking for a little bit of whatever we had in our cooler.

I won’t start dealing with the pictures I took until tomorrow evening, but I have in my possession clear photographic evidence that the SQ teams were blatantly cheating: them bastards had an espresso machine.

Skater's Quest was hooked up - they have everything sorted out. Thanks so much to you guys for sharing the wealth: the microwave, the sharpie, the dinner, and especially the ride!!!
