Ask DocSk8 (Expert Indoor Skate Building Advice) This forum is different then the other SkateLog forums in that it is not a discussion forum, but rather a place you can ask skate building expert Fred "DocSk8" Benjamin about building and repairing indoor speed, derby, and jamskate quad roller skates. Default David Team

I'm looking into some David Team boots for a new set of quad speed skates. These skates will be indoor speed only skates, no sessions, no jam.

Is the Chester CH20 a good boot for this application, or are some of their other boots better suited for indoor?

What is your overall opinion of a David Team boot compared to say a 695?

If you are doing hard core indoor speed (as in practice with the team) see how many folks are in 195s.... Probably not too many. The CH20 is similar. Less weight thajn a 195 because it has thinner leather, thinner soles and a cloth lining. But the low ankle is probably not what you would want for indoor. I didn't like mine... but my daughter loves hers. She is NOT doing hard core speed in them however.

I'd stick with the more traditional stuff to get all the power to the floor.
