*** The SkateLog Forum Has Been Replaced by SkateDebate Dot Com ***

This announcement is to let everyone know that after hosting the SkateLog Forum and its predecessors for nearly 20 years, I have decided it is time to permanently turn the forum over to a new owner and administrator. I cannot think of anyone more suitable to take on that role than my SkateLog forum co-host, Florida skater Jessica Wright. I am pleased to announce that Jessica has agreed to establish and host a brand new skating forum, configured like the SkateLog Forum, but with a new name and a new Web Site. This new forum is 100% owned and operated by Jessica.

NEW FORUM NAME: SkateDebate Forum

Default July 4th 2013: Idaho, Coeur D 'Alene Trail Skate Tour- summer fun

Announcing the 9th annual
July 4th 2013: Idaho, Coeur D 'Alene Trail Skate

Dates: June 29 - July 7th. Most of the group will be in Idaho July 3rd-7th.
(discounted room rates are available only thru these dates.)

No time like the present to think ahead to summer skating fun. SkateNow & Skate Journeys have been co-hosting this trip each July bringing skaters together to experience the seemingly endless trails of northern Idaho.

74 miles of incredibly smooth pavement and beautiful scenery along the Trails of the Coeur d 'Alene await you in Idaho. Skating is split up over 3-5 days, averaging 25-50 miles per day, covering the entire length of the trail. It's also flexible in that skaters can skate more/less distance, as much or as far as you wish.

The trip is self-financed, and not a guided tour, travel fees to/from and other incidentals are on your own. Discount room rates are set-up for skaters wishing to stay at the Silver Mountain resort in Kellogg, ID (normally the group is based out of Silver Mtn), for the dates surrounding July 4th, from June 29-July 7, giving skaters flexibility to stay longer. There are numerous other area lodging options: motel/hotels, camping, or home rentals in the areas as well. See the SkateNow Skate School event page for a listing. Trip details, maps, general area info re: the trip can be found at the link as well.

Meals: plan to BBQ, pick up groceries locally for cooking meals in, or there are ton of options for eating out. Informal BBQ's are planned for most of the evenings. Just touch base with either SkateNow or Skate Journeys upon your arrival so we know you're there and can include/inform you of evening BBQ's and each days trail skate.

Below are the discount room rates for Silver Mountain Resort. Price excludes Waterpark passes, as there does not seem to be much interest in Water park activities. But, for those with kids along on the trip, or those who just want to go play in the pools, ride the wave, or hit the water slides, you can purchase daily water park passes on your own at the resort.

Please pass this information along to other skaters. And, as always, cyclists are welcome. Other area activities include: cycling, hiking, kayaking, downhill mountain biking, golf, fishing, water park (at the resort), etc.
Make your summer of skating one to remember!

Thanks, and see you on the trail,
SkateNow & Skate Journeys
