Thumbs up Detroit Reunion Skate (June 15 2010)

If you live in SE Michigan , or are in the Detroit area during this time, a very cool city skate is coming up! Apparently, there is more than one group of skaters that will be skating in Detroit on the evening of June 15th. I will be joining Farmington Inline Skate Club, organized by Mike.

I'm really looking forward to it!

See the link and info below:

Tue 6:30 PM

Karras Brothers Tavern
225 Joseph Campau St
Detroit, MI 48207

How to find us
"Look for the skaters and I'll look for you."

Who's hosting?

So why would anyone want to skate in Detroit, especially at night?
Here's the real beauty of skating in Detroit - Someone once said, "No one else much uses the streets at night, so we might as well skate them." It's great! Imagine skating for miles on wide, smooth pavement, with little or no traffic to interfere. There's nowhere else in the world like it!

Over the last few years the amount of skaters that skate downtown has been declining. However, there usually have been a couple of reunion type skates that dozens of people show up for.

This is not a beginner skate, you should be able to brake, navigate obstacles such as potholes and curbs and be able to skate for about 5 miles at a time. If you plan on attending I suggest bringing a few things:

Helmet and pads
Blinkie lights
Cell phone
Money for bar stop

If you have questions regarding this skate send me a message and I'll try to answer it.

Skate Detroit 2010 is ON! (formerly known as BOFS or Reunion Skate)

The Cornerstone Tavern in Downtown Detroit at the corner of Joseph Campau & Guoin. (Same place as always!)

We'd like to sk8 away by 7pm. However, NO SKATER will be left behind.

Maps will be provided. Spliners are welcome. Sag Wagon provided for those in need.
