Default Downhill skating in China

This is a piece of video showing a group of Chinese skaters downhill skate at a hill area near Beijing. If you have chance to come to Beijing, please join us. It's a great way to take in the sights and see the scenery of Beijing suburbs, even a section of ruined Great Wall build up thousands years ago!

I'd call them brakes, and how about that stick brake, seems like a new brake discussion's going to be in order

Love everything about it, great skating, great food, great scenery, friendly people and IMHO if somebody doesn't get up and dance while dining out the world's not a better place.

Yes, you are right, actually those are flags or raincoats, not sails used as parachutes to control skating speed when downhill. One of those skaters used to be a MIG-19 fighter pilot, when landing MIG-19 uses parachute to slowdown. hahahaha!

Trafiic jam is everywhere in downtown Beijng nowadays, however, in remote sbuurbia area of Beijing, there is less traffic on road. That road they skated on was about 120km from Downtown Beijing.

Another down hill skating by using flag as parachute to control speed.

Nice Vid and awesome Scenery and Road! The sail is a great improvement over using a flannel shirt and buttoning the top 2 buttons to create wind drag for speed control.

Not sure on the stick brake, but does seem more stable than other options out there.
