Oh thanks for reminding me of that very thing! I dreamt last night "hey I wonder if can register on Saturday." Then I woke up and all thought left my head. Typical. I've got my form filled out and figured I'd just show up on Saturday at noon and see if they'll take my money. I have a feeling there is a good chance some cats are going to be combined (call it a hunch). If true OHHHH I hope someone spikes Debbie's water with valium. Lots of good happy valium. And all the other pros for that matter.

And yes I wish they would but oh well.

PS I was told by 2 reliable sources that Joey Mantia is registered for the event.

From the horse's mouth 2 time RR winner Adam Miller is coming and I think Ryan is too.

They're not in my catagory so I'm not sweating bullets just yet.

I hope that when he laps me my helmet doesn't get sucked off in his wake... :-)

Default I think I can go

High humidity? Hmph! I'm a Houston girl myself.
I will try my best to go though I've got to save some money first. It sounds like fun especially since it's open to all lvls and I'm a newb with my speed skates.

Hi Tessiemew, welcome to the board (at least this is the first post by you I read) and congratulations with your speed skates.

I'm fairly new on mine as well, but it doesn't matter if you just started skating or have for many years, a marathon is for everyone.

Looking forward to meet you!

Richard let me know the other day that there will be registration on Saturday for the elimination races and is when they are expecting most folks will sign up. However, I suggest showing before the first scheduled event as combining of the groups will likely happen.

The thought of a road trip from here to Texas… scary long drive. But at the moment, we are looking at spending the night at the airport in Charlotte, as we’re flying standby and all those unexpected maintenance groundings seem to have caused cascading overflows throughout the air travel system. So, ya know, suddenly the thought of being in a car for 21 hours is not quite as undesirable a notion as it once was. (Still fairly undesirable, though.)

Any skateloggers around Charlotte wanna come bring us breakfast in bed (for certain values of “bed”)? Or even better, anybody know of anywhere in that airport one could see how Am-Wings do as indoor wheels?

See y’all down south! (eventually…)

Can't believe that you are still there in the airport. I hate that. Check your PM.
