I really like the design. Interesting how the rear trucks are set up as SA, but with the large diameter washer-cushion at bottom. What kind of skating are you planning to use them for?

Yeah i know what you mean about the rear trucks, I had a pair of these over 25 years ago and had forgotten about that set up. I have plans to get back into doing some speed skating but after such a long break im not really expecting too much, Ill just have to see how i go

Yeah I sure did, I kind of lived at that place and I probably wore skates more than shoes in those days I went from the old rink on Bagdally Rd to the Banked track when it opened in about 1983? and skated there right through to the end of the 80`s, when i wasnt barred by Reg or Terry Codey that is, lol...

Default New Boots! Ordered :)

Just ordered my new boots, I have been trying to decide between a pair of Tommy Altamura`s "Jets" or a pair of Bonts "Quad Racer Leather", I have decided to go with the Bonts in white, so now i just have to wait the 5/6 weeks for delivery and try to decide on what wheels to buy

Nice boot's ricks_1969,

I have a few set's of Bont's myself, my first pair were Quad Leather, they gave me grief with the heel counter, being so long and high as opposed to the carbons, not everybody has had that problem, but some have experienced it, I hope they don't give you grief.
Nice looking boot's though!

Yeah i hope your right and i dont have any problems. I love the Bonts aswell, I have an old set from the 80`s that look a little ratty but there so comfy and a set of QRC`s, they are still new and not really broken in yet and they feel a bit tight even though there is a bit of room left in the toes so with this set i ordered the next size up, another 4 or 5mm so they should be a little better straight away i hope.

** I Just checked my Emails and i have a message from Bonts saying...."We are making your order now and it will be shipped to you within 7 working days" **

You might not even encounter the heel counter drama's I and some others have had, they might of slightly altered the design by now, I don't remember exactly but I think Bont got some pretty negative feedback by a few people a couple of years ago.
It's funny how you say your QRC's are a little tight around the toe's, I had the same thing on a set of white one's I have, it wasn't a fitting issue more just the leather was a bit stiff, I just brought some leather softener and sprayed a bit on the inside a little on the outside and then skated at the rink for a few hours that day and by the end of the day they were fine. Great blue on your QRC's by the way they look really nice, Im due for a new build soon, I love my Bont's but Im thinking something different like Tommy A's, I hope you read this Nick we need to take that drive soon
7 working day's to process your order, that is awesome how quick is that! before you know it they will be at your door
And no doubt you should be putting some Scott's on them, there's nothing else is there

Yeah i will definately try to soften the leather on mine then, mine are just a little to stiff and like yours its definately not a fitting issue. I wanted to get some of Tommys Jets this time tho as i had a set as a kid (I thought my old ones had a fiberglass sole tho) maybe my memory is wrong anyway i went to Bunnings to get some paint colour charts to send down to him with the order forms i already have here, so when i would ring him i would be able to pick and confirm a colour over the phone as im told he has heaps of different colours down there but you cant really get those charts anymore, just these separate paint chips So i just though it would be easier to just get the Bonts, next time im down that way i will drop in and order a set from him tho. And yes i think i will get another set of Scotts wheels, probably the D`s this time...

Whoo hoo, just got an email from FedEx "Shipment Notification". 7 working days has actually turned out to be 10, but still an excellent result and my boots will be here by the end of the week i guess. Very happy Bont!!
