Ask DocSk8 (Expert Indoor Skate Building Advice) This forum is different then the other SkateLog forums in that it is not a discussion forum, but rather a place you can ask skate building expert Fred "DocSk8" Benjamin about building and repairing indoor speed, derby, and jamskate quad roller skates. Default Riedell Boot Sizing

Doc,

Hello! I'm going to be replacing my 16 year old 595's soon, which are a size 12, and was wondering what the difference in inches is between a 12 and a 12.5.

I'll also be getting them somewhat customized, without the reinforcement on the right boot (this always bothered me after a long day skating); does the 695 have the same reinforcement on the right boot?

Thanks!
NP

Default Riedell Sizing etc.

Doc,

I have not made a detailed study of that. Riedell does seem to follow the 1/3 inch per size standard.

I'll also be getting them somewhat customized, without the reinforcement on the right boot (this always bothered me after a long day skating); does the 695 have the same reinforcement on the right boot?

If you are refering to the counter in the heel that extends forward, then they are similar. You may be getting into something expensive. I would advise calling Riedell directly and finding out for sure.
