Ask DocSk8 (Expert Indoor Skate Building Advice) This forum is different then the other SkateLog forums in that it is not a discussion forum, but rather a place you can ask skate building expert Fred "DocSk8" Benjamin about building and repairing indoor speed, derby, and jamskate quad roller skates. Default Magnums -- size and color questions

One of the skaters in my league just had her skates re-plated with white Magnums, and as a convert to the Church of Single-Action Plates, I'm seriously thinking about doing the same. Was wondering about the following:
  1. I know the white Magnums are magnesium, and from what I've seen, they're incredibly light. How do the yellow ones compare?
  2. My beloved BOAT ANCRES are size-6 125s with size-3 Invaders. The wheelbase on those plates is pretty long, and if I were going to put those plates on another pair of skates, I'd probably go with a size 2.. Since the recommended size chart for the Magnums runs parallel to the Invaders, would it be safe to say I could take a 2 in those as well?

Default Magnums.

Close as I have been able to tell all the SA Sure Grips are the same wheel base based on common size....

Unfortunately the yellow ones are about 2x heavy.. Real Ancres.... If the Titanic had Yellows for ancres they would have never left port....
Oh yes, I'd go a 2 fer sure fer sure..
