Today I skated first with my Rollerblade with 84 mm wheels and after this, I chanced to my SEBA's with 80 mm wheels in order to observe the difference. I like the easiest push uphill, and I feel it's to dangerous to go too fast downhill ![]() The video shows me skating the Rollerblades and after this the SEBA's. / Henning

Another day up early. 4.3 miles of hill repeats in 22 minutes. Blah. I hate hills, but this race in about 10 days will kill me if I don't do the hills. Noting some defects in my technique. My weight transfer is good, but I am not leaning back enough into the wheels to get good quad activation in the push, especially on the hills. Thinking about intervals tomorrow. We will have to see.

4.5 miles in 20 minutes yesterday, just a tempo, legs didn't have enough for intervals. Rest day today, hard practice with an outdoor team scheduled tomorrow.

Thanks. We need all the help we can get in here. I think you make #4 regulars here. Keep up the good work!
The past two weeks have been good for me skating on my inlines as I have a minor injury that is keeping me off the longboards entirely. Plan to give the longboards a break for two more weeks as well. I also crossed the 2000 mile threshold for all skating (boards and inlines) in the past 53 weeks (1 year + 1 week). ![]() ![]()

Getting up early is working most days. Got in 4 miles yesterday in 18 minutes of 1x1 intervals x5. Hills some last week. 16 mile team skate practice on Saturday. Just trying to get miles in before the race this coming Saturday.

Got 100+ this past week. I feel satisfied. Put some new wheels on too. Orange instead of white now. Labeda Asphalt. Diggin' it!

Just a quick 4.6 in 20:49 this morning. Humid, and I am tired from not sleeping well this week.

When I get home I jump in the shower with my board shorts on, spray them down to get all the salt out of them, wring them out, and then take my shower.

You guys are a bit farther south from me, it usually only gets this hot around here for a couple of days a year. The race this weekend will be brutal.

I finished. That is about as good as I could have done at this race. Everyone was slow. Temps were crazy, humidity was 95%. Surviving to the finish was all I wanted. Shockingly, I wasn't dead last, but I was close. Finished just short of two hours.

Nice job completing the race under those conditions. Humidity makes for some real discomfort, socks get soaking wet, blisters become more likely, not to mention heat exhaustion possibilities. Thanks for the update!

Much nicer weather this morning. Quick early morning skate today. 5 miles in 21:16, working on tempoing and pushing the pace to get the HR up. Probably intervals tomorrow, that or hills.

Good job on finishing!
I've just been skating everyday at home. I don't even go to our local skateparks anymore. Most days twice, some days once. Exercise while drinking beer at home and having a blast at the same time? YES PLEASE! ![]() ![]() ![]()

You just might be the biggest kid I have ever seen. I'm only 5'10" and 150lbs. You look smoother on your backyard "JungleGym" than I ever would.
I am taking a break, even from work. Doing a week's worth of "Honey-Dos" around the house and the wife's car. After 1000 miles in 90 days, and the heat/humidity here right now, I need a change. Staying up late, sleeping in, then twisting screwdrivers and swinging hammers, brooms, mops, whatever. Might just use this miserable month to get it all done so I am free when the weather gets less ignorant. Keep at it bro! I am still checking in regularly. I did something different yesterday. I filmed a tornado from my front yard. Only the third one I have ever seen. https://vimeo.com/177617825 When I say the weather is "ignorant" I am not fooling around. It's either deadly hot or blowing the freaking roofs off.

Sadness...
![]() Excuse... ![]() ![]() The white "Z"-shaped line on the first radar image is the Rail-Trail I was supposed to skate 60 miles on last week. Tree debris from severe storms high winds ended that dream for now.
