Ask DocSk8 (Expert Indoor Skate Building Advice) This forum is different then the other SkateLog forums in that it is not a discussion forum, but rather a place you can ask skate building expert Fred "DocSk8" Benjamin about building and repairing indoor speed, derby, and jamskate quad roller skates. Default Skate plate drill pattern? and plate ?

Apologies if not pharsed correct, new to skates. I have some Carrera 105B's with I assume original nylon/plastic black SG plates with a size 9 on them. The skates are size 12. I am wondering if you could tell me what size Sure Grip Advenger DA-45 plate I would want to purchase and what the chances are that the mount holes would align. It appears both plates only use 4 bolts to mount. Thanks

Default You did just fine.

1) I don't think the Probe (plate you have now) and the Avenger have the mount holes in the same place.

2) I would also be suspicious of the original plate alignment so even if they did line up, I would not really want to use the old holes.

3) Sure Grip says an Avenger standard mount plate would be a size 6. I would do a 5 myself, but that may require drilling a second set of mount holes in the back.

Done a lot that doing doing just what you are thinking about doing.
