Default Dashcam for skating

Wondering if anyone has ever used a dashcam for skating. Why spend $400+ if you can get something for $55 that may do the job.

I may borrow a friend's and try it.

It will probably work ok. They usually are not packaged as nicely and sometimes require an external power supply but it will probably work. I remember someone using a cheap RC plane camera a while back and it worked pretty good. There are some cheaper action cams on the market these days as well.
