Awfully quiet.... I hope Everyone is too busy skating!
I skated my 1st competition in over 30 years. It was our Pre-Regionals that was hosted at my home rink. I was cajoled into skating and I am glad that I was. I had an awesome time and skated well. Now of course, the other shoe drops, and my Coach and others want me to compete at Regionals and Nationals if I place out. Our Region has so few skaters, that most everyone that competes, gets to go to Nationals. I still love the thrill and idea of doing it, but to give up so much of my summer weekends and free time will be a big deal to me. I'm not sure that I can give it that much of a commitment.
I'm one of those All In or All Out types. I'm not going to do a lame job.
Decisions, decisions.....
Stay Well,
Dave

Ho ho, slow it down, I am still deciding!
If I skate I would skate Masters Solo.
Big shoes/skates to fill!
Lots of things happening in my life, so many things to take into consideration.
Tough decision.
What about you? Premier?

Glad you brought it up. I was thinking the same thing! :-)

Congrats on the contest.

I was supposed to skate my first contest in 20-::cough::-something years but we just found out the contest was cancelled. I was nervous as hell about it but I am more disappointed that it was cancelled for the 3 boys we had entered to skate their first contest (1 for stroking and 2 for Elementary boys freestyle.) We haven't told them yet. :-(

So, looks like my "return" will be Sunrise Invitational...no pressure there!

Hope you skate your regionals.

I'm skating out of Beverly, MA. It's a small club of Adults. I'm the young-un of the crowd at 52.

Big shoes/skates to fill! ...No, i just happen to make the least amount of mistakes that day.

Tough decision.... you only live once and you really cant go backwards...challange yourself!!!!! It would be really nice to have another male adult skater competing!
What about you? Premier?...yes...i jumped into the shark tank in odenton, against Deryek and a few others of the more experienced crowd...... again, I just happened to make the least amount of mistakes that day.......

Don, Thanks for the encouragement! Still lots of things to consider.
Skating is part of my life, the other parts like home life and my business need to be given adequate time too.
Jeff will be a formidable competitor if he is skating Masters.
Congrats on Odenton!
regards,
Dave

Hmmmm....
Regionals is a possibility, but I wouldn't do it if there was a chance of keeping someone from going to Nationals. Plus, I know I would feel very guilty if I actually qualified and then didn't go.
So it's back to All In or All Out.
Still have plenty of time to decide.
Til then, keeping the knees bent

Holy crap....... i am so looking forward to seeing you skate! Glad you decided to join the diminishing group of us comp guys!

Cant wait to see you!

I think that we are goin up on the friday for practise, and then all of our events are on Saturday.........

Personally I think you'll give Jeff a run for his money!

Who knows, maybe this will lead on to Team dance comp? i know one step at a time........lol

Question? are they going to have a regular publc session the thursday before the official practise? Someone at my rink was asking?

Hi Don,
Yes, there will be a regular artistic session on Thurs 6/27. 8-10:30pm
My events are on Saturday also.
I will probably have to skip the practice on Friday though, depends what the timing turns out to be. That 4 letter word "Work" gets in the way.
Jeff is an awesome skater. I'm not sure who else, if anyone, will be in that division.

Team... is Doubtful. Come on now! I'm barely convinced to skate Solo.
AND I'm only 5'4 there aren't that many female skaters that would be a good height match. Maybe "Mini Team"
Looking forward to seeing you and everyone at Regionals.
Dave
