Ahh yes......Shadow Boxer....and someone else mentioned I See Red by Split Enz, I remember skating to that one too.

I mentioned "The Crunge" which was wrong. That is a Led Zeppelin song. I meant The Crunch by The Rah Band.

And has someone already mentioned Here To Go by Devo? How good was that to skate to?

Love Rush and I've been to see them 5 times now. Last I saw time they did the whole 2112 album. Throw some YYZ on the ipod when I'm skating and I get a few more laps at top speed.

I listened to it just a bit ago.....

For an all out sprint I use to love this song (back when I was in skating shape lol) you could sprint for a couple of minutes then there was an interlude, then sprint again....

Haha, thanks Karl and Colin, you guys just finished my aussie top10. "here to go' and that Beatles medley where awesome especially when they played atleast two songs together for an extra long speed skate.
I remember sometimes having a rest in the middle and sneeking back on for the final sprint.
Nothing like the wind in your hair and tongue hanging out on that super fast banked track

Me too! (or I should say had - not sure what happened to it).
I remember this one from when I first really started speed skating. Much later I saw the film clip, o my god!

Man I wanted to go see them in either Atlanta or Tampa. I've been to the 30th Anniversary Tour in Tampa and the Snakes and Arrows Tour in Tampa. I missed out on Time Machine (newborn, wife on unemployment, etc..)

You should throw "One little victory" to that list up there ;-)

I just had a flashback of epic proportions here...I just remembered the first speed skate song from the my first ever trip to a skating rink. This was back in 1979, my mom took me to the bowling alley with her that particular night. Lucky for me, the owner of the bowling alley also owned the local rink. The owner came over and told my mom she was going to the rink and would I like to go...so my mom let me go. There I was, a lone 6 year old among a sea of people, at least in mind. And then the song came on, The Knack's "My Sharona". I swear the kids were flying around the rink and I vowed I had to learn to skate so I could fast skate. After that song I made my way on the floor and pulled myself around using the rails for the rest of the night.
