My small collection of old skates.

The skates on the left are used for dance and session. The toe stop is only worn when skating session. The skates in the middle are used only for figures. The skates on the right are used only for skating sessions. Those tiny green and orange tags on my dance and figure skates are what I use to track my cushion setting. And after more than 20 years, I still have not used my white toe stop once. I have a pair of magnesium plates buried somewhere among my moving boxes. I have not found them yet.

While I am impatiently waiting on mine to get here from Italy, I thought I would post a shot of my 3 year old's suregrips, which we took delivery of this week. Needless to say, she was a very happy girl.

I like em for sure :-) certainly not the same plate as the original boens but still a relatively light weight and responsive plate.

After the original boen plate set i have, these new boen/boiani's are the lightest, and (IMO) perform similarly to the originals. Just have to get the right cushions to suit your weight and style/preference and they are a very worthy plate.

Cheers

Hey! How are these skates? I was looking at getting some foot long distances (30+miles). Do you find that they want to fold under you at all? I understand they are a mostly soft boot but I would want something that feels extremely solid at full speed. I question how well a125mm softboot skate would feel for a several hour skate.

Riedell 265s with Cyclone plates and original Metaflex Dragster wheels. My wife and I found these in an antique store, and they were my other daughter's size, so we picked them up. Cleaned and conditioned, before and after.

Just got the custom 395's back from Doc, he did a great job building the for me. Still having a bit of a break in period, nothing like my supple 20 year old skunks.
Both skates are rocking Scott's wicked lips.
