Ask DocSk8 (Expert Indoor Skate Building Advice) This forum is different then the other SkateLog forums in that it is not a discussion forum, but rather a place you can ask skate building expert Fred "DocSk8" Benjamin about building and repairing indoor speed, derby, and jamskate quad roller skates. Default (re)breaking in a 595

Hey Doc,

My friend just got some used 595s (old style) and is having trouble breaking in the heel area. The hard part that cups the heel has basically bent in near the top and is cutting into her foot. Any advise on how to widen em out or soften em up? I tried just putting pressure on the (basically pulling apart with my hands forever) but no dice.

Thanks!

Default Fixing the counter...

That is outside my knowledge / ability... So, I would contact Riedell and ask.... In fact I would probably send them back to them to fix 'em. It won't be cheap, but an early 595 is a treasure to be cherished....
