Question Skate protection?

I have had my Seba Carbon's for 9 weeks, and they are pretty trashed already. I don't baby my skates, but I havent really done much outdoor skating with them. I have burnt through the leather on one of my skates from sliding on a hardwood rink floor, and am about to do the same on the other. Some of the white material is loose on the carbon too. I will post pictures after school showing what I'm talking about. Is there anything that you guys do to protect your boots from damage?

Check out these (sorry, they're in Russian, but there're pictures that help getting the idea):

Metal bumper + inside slalom slider for Highs/Carbons/etc (the most promising setup):

Fr slider for High inside:
Video of the same: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYD8wFYfHKo

Glueing in a soft slider:
There're also dozens of other different "soft" sliders approaches which can be found in the Internet.
