Not understanding your question probably because of the language/wording. Do you mean Male/Female skater. Its great to see a Cameroon skater for sure. Welcome.

The question of who is the highest paid skater is difficult to answer accurately because there is little accurate public information. I assume the question refers to inline speed skaters. Then there's the question of whether the question refers to pay just from skating, or would also include pay from selling skates, or doing training, or designing skates, or selling nails. (Some of the best USA skaters, and other Olympic level athletes, have found that working at Home Depot gives the best pay they can get.) There's also the issue of reference point; some of the best Colombian skaters are said to be very well paid, but I think that's in comparison to the average Colombian citizen without advanced professional training; I see no evidence that these skaters are well paid compared to USA citizens who excel at what they do professionally.

I understand what jim is saying. Home Depot has always been supportive of US athletes if they are Olympic or not. UPS use to be big into sponsoring there employees if they had Olympic dreams.

But I am wondering of the original poster is trying to ask pay wise as in there winnings, and maybe a pay check they get from there sponsor.

In Inline I would think it would be mantia, along with chad hedrick I am sure he still gets some kind of kick backs.

That's my point. Mantia wins little in prize money currently: I think several WIC skaters are well ahead of him for prize money. Yes, he does get a pay check from his sponsor, but he earns much of it by sitting at a desk for much of the day, on a keyboard. Some people may be sure Hedrick yet gets kickbacks from inline; I'n not, surely not kickbacks that would put him much ahead of someone who sells nails for Home Depot.

Lets say this jim if mantia would of been at indoor nationals, he would of possibly gotten $700 in winnings just from luigino skaters splitting there winning among each other, if you ask me that is pretty good money for some one that probably does not have any bills to pay.

I'll make a bet that no one on this forum can name the highest paid inline speed skater in the world.

I'm thinking ice.

Sven Kramer had a salary of 400.000 Euro (500.000 USD) in 2007, if he is not the best paid speedskater he is at least not badly paid...

Who makes big money in Inline Speed Skating? I really haven't a clue.

Cheers,
Andy.

Has anyone forgotten Eddy Matzger?

Alex... if we're talking skate manufacturers who have skated in the past (and probably roll from time to time), I'm sure Inze is at the top.
