I think it would be interesting to see how your roller girls are actually dressed. I actually like the diversity of the RD uniforms. It shows character.
I guess refs can post up too.

We did several "theme" bouts this season. Here is my favorite--we were the "carries" for Haloween, complete with pink prom dresses covered with blood.
![]() Second favorite was the villans vs villans theme in October where we were purple comic book villans. ![]() Then there's the squad uniform--kinda plain compared to these others, but much more practical for playing other leagues. ![]() We are breaking into permenent teams this summer, so the uniforms will then stay the same for each team. I desperately want to wear searsucker shorts as part of my team's uniform, but we'll have to see who gets that one!

I'm totally impressed with this kimono costume since I made it from scratch from cheap wal-mart cloth and a whole mess of hot glue. The obi is made from part of a black vinyl tablecloth!
![]() Yes, all the seams were hot glued together. There's narry a stich in the whole thing, AND it didn't come apart at all during the bout. ![]() I was wearing a tank and compression shorts under neath in case there was a costume malfunction, or more correctly, to MAKE SURE there WASN'T a costume malfunction.

Hi PowerS,
Slightly off topic yet please help. I keep on looking, even going to your profile, yet can't quite figure out which one is you in the group picture. I know, I know it's obvious to you. Yours in Skating, MA/NY Dave Edit-1 OK, Now with your new post I'm all set Last edited by MANY_SkatingDave; June 4th, 2007 at 04:10 PM. Reason: PowerS's most recent addition |

So far I think the outfits are great. Aceface, I gave your outfit quite a bit of scrutiny. I think you could avoid some road rash by cultivating some chest hair, it's saved my hide numerous times, except for the one incident with the bic lighter... The downside is some people my find it less than appealing. Seems mullets and chesthair bring out some strong emotions in some people...
I like the mod look, but I'm kinda into the retro 60's theme (ratrods) to start with. I think me and my son wouldn't have a problem, but I have to think that my wife, much as Mr. Brikkee's, would smack me in the back of the head. Rg |

Hi AceFace,
from the Western part of VA Nice pictures, you should be grateful that you have such good photographers. When you get a chance, if it is available, can you show a team picture. Yours in Skating, MA/NY Dave |

Well, after seeing these photos, I think the funniest thing would be to see ME as a derby girl, lol, especially in a match. One hit and I would do some serious FLYING into the audience.
Of course, once I hit, it wouldnt be funny anymore.

Dudette, I know where you are coming from. Do the ref's ever get banged around? The team in Paducah is looking for ref's but I weigh 125 and would hate to have one of those girls whip my butt. Then again, it might be a crowd pleaser, you know, make a bunch a bad calls then have the girls gang up on me. Just watch the hair, thank you...
Aceface, the camera loves you. Do you ever take a bad picture? All of mine look like me Rg |

Jim, my man is a derby ref...and he's pretty fragile. I broke his rib last summer by accident - unrelated to derby. Seems to me that the only time refs get hurt is when a girl falls into the inside of the track and a ref gets tripped. It doesn't happen very often that they are hit. The only time my guy has been hurt is from falling on his butt and smacking his head from his own skating.
Meanwhile, dudette, we have girls in the league who are TINY...one girl is FEARLESS about hitting bigger girls too. She's hilarious! And they're gonna make brilliant jammers... |

Well, theres small, theres tiny, then theres rediculously tiny!! Thats me.
I dont think if you put rocks in my skates and metal all over my body that I could get up to a hundred lbs. From a distance I look like I"m no older then 16, lol! Serious ectomorph here!!But thats why in high school I ended up on the track/cross country team. I played field hockey and I got tired of being plowed over, but dang did I learn to run and run FAST!! I'm tough though. I can do handstands and all sorts of crazy stuff. Just no contact please. But when I think about how humorous it would be, sure the flying human might be a hoot, lol. My friends want me to go into artistic pairs just so they can see my partner throw me across the entire rink, lol.
