Here are three free image hosting services on the Web. I'm not sure which of these allow hot-linking. Flickr does, and I'm pretty sure ImgSpot does - or at least they did at one time - but I'm not certain about the others.

I mainly use photobucket, but occasionally use Glowfoto because I don't always want to take the time to log into my photobucket account (glowfoto doesn't require membership for small (100 x 100) or medium (200 x 200) pictures.

I suggest www.imagesocket.com.
They are fast, and have some nice features you can use when you upload images. |

what i was still looking for was a way to put a thumbnail in a forumpost, wich is clickable to the large picture to show. tinypic site does not support that directly, but there is a not-too-complicated way; ![]() how i did that; after loading up an image, the site shows a thumbnail, but does not give the filename of that small image. It is simply the complete location of the file you've uploade, with the addition "_th" just before the extension ".jpg".

www.imagesocket.com does thumbnails. As does www.imageshack.com, though their images load slower on browsers, and they stop hosting images after a certain time period.

I wanted to bring this back up to the top and ask people, as of now, what free imaging hosting web sites they'd recommend? Any changes from those previously mentioned? I've not registered with any of those mentioned, but wondered if there'd been any changes in the past half a year or so that puts one ahead of another. Thanks!

I'd also recommend www.imagevenue.com if you want particularly large images hosted (they allow up to 1.5 MB in size). They require no registration, which can be good or bad (because you have no "album" to keep track of your images), and only allow JPG/JPEG files. They also provide several forms of URLs (img tags, html tags) with clickable thumbnails.
