Wow, time flies. Time to start forming a team again. I talked about solo, but I haven't made the final decision yet (the team was so much fun!) I'm starting this thread to get an idea of who would be interested in forming a Skatelog team. Let us know here if you'd like to participate next year.

I'll be flying solo again, and I encourage you to throw your hat in the ring as well, Jessica. It's an adventure, I promise you! And of course I'm looking forward to seeing the other SkateLoggers... I can't wait!

More info: Kathie has again agreed to sponsor a SLF team! Thanks Kathie! So the entry fee is covered and we are a real team.
The weekend was tons of fun! Several of us shared a hotel room which was fun and kept costs down, and I would expect we would do so again. We also had some meals together, which was nice. A couple of SLF's brought their families to Montreal, which is a great idea. The positive energy at the event was unbelievable. And being part of a team was great. If you are even kind of thinking of racing at Montreal, I'd highly recommend it. We will probably get more than 10 people interested again this year - we will likely have an official signup, so look for it and jump on it. Official website: http://24inline.ca/ There are several SLF threads regarding the 2007 Montreal race, too. |

The Montreal 24-hour race is an incredibly fun and challenging event. There is only a limited number of team slots available for the race and registration fills up quickly. So I encourage anyone who is looking for a unique skating experience to sign up now with Jessica for the 2008 SkateLog team.
Skater’s Quest is planning on sending two teams to Montreal and we are looking forward to skating with SL and Cowbell again.

Jessica,
I would be honored to skate in your place if you decide to skate solo. I would also like to be apart of your support team to keep you going 24hs. After skating with you last weekend, I know your going to be a monster by the the the race rolls around. Craig |

We're putting another team in and from what I understand there will be a few Toronto teams again as well.

Respect for those going solo!
![]() But I like my toenails way too much (re. cowbell's that went MIA last year), so I'll do it as part of a team. Count me in as part of a Skatelog Team, if I'm fast enough for your guys. It sound like so much fun. And what am I doing posting on Big Turkey Day??? - well being non-american, for me its just a normal Thursday with work (and posting whilst working...)

I'm definitely in. (says a voice that hasn't been heard from in a while) I vow to train harder this year.

The Montreal event we are talking about here is a 24 hour inline skating relay race on a Formula One auto racing track on an island in Montreal, Canada. It typically takes place in July. Teams can have up to 10 people and only one of each team's skaters can be on the track at any particular time. Participants skate with a baton that is passed from skater to skater. A group of SkateLog friends put together a team for the first time in 2007 and even though many of them had never met in person, they ended up finishing 9th in their category and by all accounts had a fantastic time.
Teams can register in one of four categories: recreational, fitness, elite, or solo. The course circuit is 4.7 kilometers (2.92 miles). In 2007 elite teams finished 171-176 laps, fitness teams finished 118-157 laps, recreational teams finished 66-132 laps, and solo skaters finished 22-103 laps within the 24 hour time limit. 2007 DISCUSSIONS AND RACE REPORTS - Montreal 24 Hour Relay: July 14-15, 2007 - Let's Form a 2007 Montreal 24 Hour SkateLog Team - Team SkateLog (and other) 2007 Race Reports - More Cowbell's 2007 Solo Race Report MORE ABOUT THE EVENT: - Official Event Web Site - Complete Results from 2007 Last edited by Kathie Fry; November 28th, 2007 at 03:38 PM. |

I also sent the Montreal folks a message and got the same reply yesterday. No date established yet, but we should watch their mailing list and their Web site at 24inline.ca for the date to be announced.

I'm about as "definitely in" as I can get this far out. I have discussed it with my spouse and did not get a "non" so that usually means "oui". My body is in one piece. No financial disasters looming. Yep, I think I will see y'all in Montreal. |
