Default Are These Maryland and Virginia Roller Rinks Still Open?

The "Where to Skate in Washington DC" thread encouraged me to review the QuadSkating.com Rink Directories for Maryland and Virginia. Are all of these roller rinks still open? Did I miss any?

Skateland Salisbury is gone, but a rink still exisits there and is listed elsewhere with a new name and phone number under Maryland rinks.

Regency Roller Sports is no longer open.. closed about 4 years ago...

I'm almost certain that Slapshotz is closed, but don't hold me to that... it wasn't really a roller rink though as much as is was a roller hockey rink... We also used to play indoor soccer there..

Strawbridge is closed, or the number was changed on me...

I didn't see Kempsville on the list - it was still open a couple years ago, but that's the last I knew...

Hope that helps a little!

This one is not on the list, but I spent the happiest years of my life there:

Now, it's beautiful, 190 x 90 foot maple floor goes unused, If I could only hit the lottery....

It's dead, Jim.

8 years of refusing to put a door on the bathroom stall finally took it's toll.

There's some sort of health club in the building now.

Wheels Skating Center
1200 Odenton Road
Odenton, Maryland 21113
Phone: 410-674-9661

Absolutely still open. I skate there when I can. Anthony Lee also skates there -- he is a top competitor in quad figures, and he teaches an inline speedskating class there.

It's about 15 - 20 minutes from BWI airport.

This is the one to go to if you want fast & furious! "Trains", and many fabulous skaters doing all kinds of tricks, etc. Also, very funky & "soul" music -- it's great! They advertise it as, "Home of the best in Urban, Hip-Hop, R&B, Old School Roller Skating."

Wheels in Odenton is calmer; it may be a bit more family oriented; they give a one-hour lesson for beginners & intermediates before the general skate every Tuesday (6:00 pm for the lesson: Fee is $5.00 - includes one hour class, quad skate rental (they will give you inline rentals if you ask), and Tuesday evening public skate session 7 - 9:30 pm); and they play pretty tame bubble-gum type music. They advertise it as, "At Wheels, we offer a wholesome, clean, well supervised skating center, and we continue to maintain a recognized reputation for providing wholesome, safe, family entertainment."

Kempsville and Greenbriar are still open these are the ones I frequent, I hear Haygood is open on weekends but it's mostly a bingo parlor.
