Default Victoria / Melbourne rinks and skaters

Just interested to know who's from VIC is on the forum. I might come skating at you rink sometime.
Oh, and Merlin and I were taking over another thread talking about Caribbean.

Any Caribbean skaters - expect 'Skaterz Eltham' shirts on Saturday night - my friends love your rink

Wed mornings (oldies) + thurs arvos (empty rink). Caribbean.

Once I get better, I'll try other times.

Eltham only has two (proper) night sessions now. Tuesday goes until 9.30 and Friday until 7.30 - 10. Oh, and Sunday's until 8 - but that doesn't really count... it's just an extension of the 'super session' 10am - 8pm.

Yeah, OK here I am

You guys REALLY need to come on a Friday - probably 75% of the speed team skate Fridays; it's the best night of the week fer sure.

Plenty of us go Saturdays, but less than the Friday crew. I normally don't skate Saturdays because I train four nights a week already, and my wife and kids would forget what I looked like otherwise.

Bummer you've lost your Saturday night session - I seriously don't know why rinks are doing that? Saturday night is traditionally a big money maker...

Edit: Oh, and we always wear our club skinsuits and warm-up tops to sessions - so I see your lowly T-Shirts, and raise you our cool club skinsuits

Eltham club is now 'Skaterz club' or something so they got all new skinsuits. I'm yet to see them. I haven't been a member of the speed club in about two years. I might go back when I'm finished school. For the moment things are too hectic.

They're the work shirts that all the staff wear haha - we don't seem to work in skin suits

Friday sounds really good - I'll suggest that too!

I want to get down there, but I generally work the day after the Saturday session, and it's a bit of a hike home since it finishes at 11pm... and I don't have my own car to ship myself around
I definitely want to go, perhaps next holidays I may be able to organise myself

Hey boys,

Craig's right, Friday's are the big ones!

There's still a few old schoolers hanging around! I, for one, am actually an ex-Dandenong skater but have been hitting up "The Bean" (aka Caribbean) with fellow shop buddies at random intervals. (although the Dandy games were soooo much better!)

Good to see some Eltham skaters too
C.B. wouldn't happen to be Claire, would it Brightey?

Well, I'll be up your way this Saturday night for the Grand Prix ... why not drop in and say "hi". I'll be the tall blonde haired guy in Senior B trying hard to keep the short dark haired guy from kicking my ass...!!!

Hey, sure! I skate Saturdays! Does the Grand Prix start at 5pm? I'll probably stay on for a bit if so and watch. Cheer on the home team. Ahh, haven't competed since 2005.

Terry Hz,
No, but I'd love to learn. I'm hoping to start slalom at the end of the year.

I really havent been in the skate market for awhile - my younger brothers old skates, and my trusty old K2s (my feet haven't grown since I was 12).
My friend recently bought some Seba's and he loves them
Best advice I can give you, is test them out. Try them on, make sure you're comfortable with the frame length, support, wheel size. And most importantly, the comfort!
If you're looking to save money, order in from overseas. I was looking at some Seba's recently, and I realised they were about $150 cheaper if I bought them from the states (yes, I did currency conversion heehee). It also helps that the Aussie $ is so strong. SO I suppose it's a good time to buy!

Yeah, try them on over here and make sure you find the US sizing. Everyone in hockey these days orders from the states because it's that much cheaper.
